It was announced on July 6 that beloved actor Cameron Boyce passed away in his sleep due to an “ongoing medical condition” he had been struggling with his whole life. The young adult passed away in his sleep while suffering an epileptic seizure. Friends, family, and fans were all heartbroken about his death, but at the same time, they wanted to celebrate his life.

Cameron Boyce was born in Los Angeles, California in 1999. His mother was of Jewish descent and his father of African-American and Afro-Caribbean. Boyce grew up in a tight family of four and was a loving brother to his younger sister Maya. He loved to breakdance as a young child and was even apart of a breakdancing group called X Mob

In 2008, Cameron was cast in a Panic at the Disco music video called That Green Gentleman (Things Have Changed). In that same year, Cameron acted in the horror movie Mirrors, a tv show called General Hospital: Night Shift, and a mystery-thriller Eagle Eye. In June 2010, Boyce starred next to Adam Sandler in the movie Grown Ups and later made an appearance in his first Disney show Shake It Up. From then on the young star caught Disney’s eye. Cameron returned to his passion for dancing and was cast on Dancing With the Stars.

In 2011, Cameron Boyce was cast in a small role in Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer. During this year Boyce also had a cameo in Disney’s Shake It Up before finally being cast as Luke Ross in Jessie. Many considered this to be his breakout role, as preteens around the world fell in love with this playful, witty, and relatable character. In Boyce’s most recent role, Descendants (2015), he played Carlos, the son of Cruella De Vil. The third Descendants movie hasn’t been published yet, as Disney has postponed the release date to August 2 in order to honor Cameron and his family.

According to the Boyce family, the autopsy showed Cameron died in his sleep due to a seizure due to an epileptic problem he had since he was a child. Cameron’s body was cremated and the ashes were returned to his family. Though he may be gone, Cameron Boyce will always be apart of our childhood and forever in our hearts.
