Welcome back to school! Whether it be the first day of high school (welcome Freshmen) or your last year (what’s up Seniors), it’s a fresh start for all students. Here are some tips to get you back in the game!

1. Get It Back Together

It’s time to say goodbye to all those summer parties, sleepovers, and lazing around in bed. Get up, take a shower, clean your room. Fight that entropy (the gradual decline to disorder)! Trust me, you will feel clear headed, fresh, and clean.

2. Buy Your Supplies

Muji, Daiso, and Art Box are a few of great places to buy school supplies. Make a checklist of things you might want. Here are a few:

  • Mechanical or standard pencils
  • Erasers
  • Highlighters
  • Notebooks
  • Loose leaf paper
  • Ruler
  • Exacto knife (surprisingly handy)
  • Pencil case

3. Bullet Journals are IN

For those who don’t know what a bullet journal is, it’s a combination of a diary, planner, and to do list.

4. Do it the NIGHT BEFORE (Don’t Procrastinate)

Not just on the night before the first day of school, but this should be a habit for every night. Pack your backpack and/or sports bag and pick out your clothes for the morning. You never know what may happen in the morning that will force you to rush through preparations. Avoid forgetting to take your homework, instrument, or a textbook by packing the night before. Stop wasting time pondering what to wear in the mornings.

5. Get Your Beauty Sleep

I cannot emphasize how important sleep is. Get off Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, etc. and go to bed. You don’t want to look like a zombie on the first day of school. Or any day. What is that cute guy/girl in your math class going to think of those dark circles?! Set your alarm for the morning, and get to bed by at the LATEST, 12:30 am.
