Marvel is a huge part of many peoples’ lives. Emerging from the comic book industry in 1939, it expanded to the form of film, appealing to even greater audiences. For 80 years, people have formed emotionally links with the characters in that universe. Therefore, after Iron Man and Captain America left the Marvel Universe in Avengers: Endgame, Marvel fans were in grief. The original members vanished with the end of the series as if Thanos snapped his fingers one last time. For Marvel fans, it was like losing a close friend and a second world. Nonetheless, Marvel is continuing its universe.
On June 26, 2019, the second movie of the Tom Holland Spider-Man series, Spider-Man: Far From Home was released in America. Fans of Spider-Man or not, all Marvel fans dashed their way to the theaters to watch the movie. They not only wanted to see the amazing Spider-Man, but also the Marvel world after the Avengers series. Even though for some people Spider-Man was not an old friend of them, they wanted to find a new friend to fill up the empty space in their hearts.
The movie starts off with Peter Parker going to a class trip with his classmates in the science club. During his trip, he encounters monsters named the Elementals and a hero named Quentin Beck. Beck’s hero name eventually becomes Mysterio, and he fights the Elementals with Spider-Man, even befriending him. Peter receives a present from Tony Stark, a pair of sunglasses with an AI named Edith. With Edith, he has full access of the technology Tony Stark created, including an army of drones. However, Peter gives Mysterio the sunglasses, feeling that the new superhero deserves it more than he does. To everyone’s surprise, it is later revealed that Beck was actually a dismissed worker in Stark Industries who wanted revenge against Tony Stark. Beck uses Edith and Stark’s drones to destroy London and pretend to save the city himself so that he could be known as the next Iron Man. It is up to Spider-Man to save London from the villain who betrayed him.
