Top 5 Airplane Activities

The airplane ride can be the most exciting part of traveling for some people. For most of us, though, the fun starts to fade away once you realize that sitting 30,000 feet up in the air for hours with only a small screen, an uncomfortable seat, and constant turbulence isn’t quite the ride you were hoping for. Especially for long flights, the wait can be a real hassle if you don’t ride first class. Here are a few ways to make the most out of your plane ride.

Listening to Music

Listening to a playlist with all your favorite songs is one of the best ways to burn time. As soon as you hop on the plane, you can pop your earbuds in and let the playlist roll. If you’re sitting in the window seat, you’re in luck—listening to calming music while looking at the clouds passing by can be one of the most relaxing things to do. You can also simply close your eyes and fall asleep as you listen to your favorite tunes; music just might make the uncomfortable seat bearable. Make sure to download your songs beforehand, since most planes don’t have Wi-Fi on board!

Playing Games

By simply downloading a couple of games on your laptop or phone, you can prevent hours of boredom on the plane. Take the time you have to relive some nostalgic games—bring out that old handheld console or Nintendo DS you stashed away a few years ago. Even if you forgot to bring games on the plane, the onboard entertainment system always provides travellers with classic games. Several rounds of Tetris and Solitaire can be really entertaining!

Those long plane hours might be the perfect chance for you to release your creative juices. Take the time to write or draw anything. Most airlines have complimentary notepads and pens available for travelers (ask for one from the flight attendant). Not only can it be entertaining, but it can also be a productive activity if you decide to write an essay or a legitimate drawing for the future.

Make Plans

It’s always exciting to think about all of the activities you can do at your destination. Whether you’re planning to meet a friend, enjoy time with family, or even go for business purposes, it’s always best to be prepared for all those activities — after all, you would hate to waste time during the trip. Making plans in the plane can be a time saver for when you arrive and a great way for you to get pumped for the trip as you think about all the things you want to do.

The Classics

Other than the activities listed above, you can always watch a movie, read a book, or simply sleep on the plane. Although these things might be novel activities, people always rely on them for entertainment for a reason.
